The Veterans Homes of California serves former military personnel by providing quality residential and medical care.

Whether one resides at Barstow, Chula Vista or the Yountville Home, the facility is truly home to men and women veterans throughout California. They offer a comfortable environment in which residents lead productive lives, form friendships and deal with disability and aging.

Residents have earned certain rights bestowed to them as veterans. The right to be treated with dignity and respect, the right to competent health care and the right to a clean and safe living environment.

BASIC ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

     1. To be admitted to a Veterans Home of California (VHC), you must be aged or disabled and meet the following basic requirements.

     2. Your discharge or release from active duty in the Armed Forces of the United States, for other than training purposes, during wartime or peacetime.

     3. Your discharge or release from active duty must have been honorable or under honorable conditions.

     4. You must be eligible for hospitalization or domiciliary care according to the laws and regulations of the U. S. Department of Veterans Affairs.
